Venaria Reale – European City of Sport 2025 Candidacy Campaign

City Dressing, communication plan, analog and digital media, motion graphics and video animation

Within an area capable of attracting thousands of tourists every year thanks to its artistic and scenic beauty such as Venaria Reale, sport finds its space by constituting a fundamental element of aggregation. Precisely for this reason, the city cradle of the Royal Palace has decided to welcome a new, stimulating challenge: to become one of the nerve centers for the promotion of sport, in Piedmont and throughout Italy. The desire to tell the riches and capabilities of the area has oriented Venaria Reale toward the candidacy for European City of Sport 2025, a choice that aims to grow the culture of sport in the City of Venaria.

Quattrolinee joined the Municipality in the entire candidacy process by providing its support in all the activities necessary for the preparation: dressing of the city, strategic communication plan related to the promotion of sport in the territory, realization of analog media and creation of motion graphics for the video presentation of the city.

City Dressing

The dressing of the city has been divided into two phases. In the initial phase, which coincides with the candidacy period, the entire urban ecosystem will be updated following the guidelines of the new identity. In the event that Venaria is selected as the European City of Sport 2025, the second phase of dressing the city will be activated, which will be applied to the proclamation ceremony and to the entire schedule of sports and cultural events already in vogue.

The city’s dressing is inspired by the new City Branding, thus constituting a fresh, disruptive, and recognizable identity.

Communication Plan

The Candidacy as European City of Sport 2025 of Venaria Reale, a reality that is already very active at the sports level, has constituted an opportunity for Quattrolinee to establish a conversation about sport that provides a different perspective, capable of involving and raising the community’s awareness on valuing not only sports activity but also of its sustainability. In particular, one of the main objectives of the Plan is precisely to increase the community’s awareness of the opportunity for personal and collective growth that sport represents, as well as of its close connection with the environment and the Venaria area in particular.

The Communication Plan was developed around the theme of sustainability, intended not only in terms of the environment but also of social and individual well-being, referring to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. Specifically, four thematic areas were selected to explore the relationship between sport and other areas related to sustainability: sport and its link to culture and identity, sport education, sport and health, and sport in the environment.

Analog and Digital Media

Quattrolinee supported Venaria Reale’s bid across the board.Apart from the dressing of the city, the agency took care of the analog and digital media designing and creation necessary for the event hosting the European Delegation of ACES Italy.

Analog media included folders, conference room table riders, identification badges, and the official bid dossier. In line with our society’s ongoing digitization, Quattrolinee also designed the digital media needed to support the event including invitations and a digital presentation created specifically for the event.

Motion Graphic and video animation

The motion graphic was created with the intention of enhancing the city presentation video through the animation of all the elements of the new identity.

The words and colors alternate dynamically, creating a magnetic effect and acting together with the animated silhouette of the doe, the symbol of the city of Venaria Reale.
