The museum is located in the city centre of Mostar, not too far from the Stari Most bridge, a local symbol known even beyond the border.

MUM is a window displaying the traditional culture of Bosnia Herzegovina, it is designed to offer the visitor a multi sensorial experience through visual and acoustic suggestions and objects telling the history of the country.

The set up of the museum

The museum path is distributed in three floors. The staging project highlights the contents through the use of non invasive supports and technical lighting system.
On the ground floor a wall projection welcomes the visitor to the museum, while on the upper floors: first and second, the main themes are revealed in four different rooms.

The story telling takes place by the use of different kinds of devices: wall projections, interactive videos shown on touch screen displays (tablets), large printed panels hung on the wall, display cases made of glass and steel exhibiting the traditional and local items and clothes.

The exposition route highlights the connections between man, earth and water. The key topics are indeed: Mostar and the cities of Herzegovina, the relationship between East and West, the landscape as ground and water, the story of the local traditions and the food and the wine.
